CX/TX Competition Last – With a profile specifically designed for very high-cadence riding & higher pressure, our Competition last features a more curved profile than the Sport last. The main differences include increased toe pitch & heel lift, a tighter heel & a slightly wider ball girth to allow the foot to expand under high pedaling pressures.

Size 44 fit perfectly. A bit of extra space in the toe, which I really like. Love the adjustability. 3rd pair of LAKE shoes. 1st pair worn out, second pair are my triathlon shoes. These are my replacement road pair. All good shoes!
It's a good shoe at $170 or less. Don't pay above that as Lake Cycling doesn't seem to mind to cut corners on minor craftsmanship. My cleat alignment guide was mis-printed and I contacted Customer Service. They gave me the response that's it's just a guide so .....?? ok fair. If they are cutting corners on little things, I wonder what else they are cutting corners on.
Lovely shoes very comfy my only complaint would be the tongue always slides down to the side but other than that the shoe is pretty much perfect great power
Not bad but lower quality than the previous model I owned (a 237 CX which does not seem available anymore). This one has only one BOA fastener on each shoe instead of two (harder to adjust snugly). Also, this is a non leather model, which I knew was the case but it does not seem as comfortable or sturdy as the leathers. I do like the availability of wide width from Lake. It would make sense to buy a slightly upgraded model in my opinion.
