CX/TX Competition Last – With a profile specifically designed for very high-cadence riding & higher pressure, our Competition last features a more curved profile than the Sport last. The main differences include increased toe pitch & heel lift, a tighter heel & a slightly wider ball girth to allow the foot to expand under high pedaling pressures.

I put them on, I knew right away, these shoes were going to save my toes. They tighten up and fit like a glove. And they look great too. I could not be more happy.
When is the last time you tried on a pair of shoes and said "WOW". Been trying to find a pair of shoes to fit my wide feet. 3rd time was the charm. A bit more money than I like to spend but well worth it. Very comfortable yet stiff. An excellent shoe. I think I will by their Gravel shoe now.
I have 118mm wide, size 11 high arch, high volume feet with bunions. I was unable to find shoes that fit until now. These shoes (44.5) fit amazingly well. The panels of soft leather on the uppers are in sections which allows for a much better fit than a solid side shoe. It seems that the lasts are not only wider but the uppers are attached lower down on the carbon soles. It gives the feeling that my foot can expand slightly from the sides. It’s an excellent design and well built. The sides are not really stiff like most shoes so they mold to the contours of my feet and yet the fastening mechanism provides an amazingly secure fit with excellent power transmission. Yes, the placement of the Boas is excellent with the panels in terms of where they grab your feet to assist the fit. For me the front panels pucker a bit on my bunion but that’s unavoidable and I imagine the leather will stretch with few more miles. Underneath the leather is a cushioned liner perforated in diamond shapes which allows very good air flow and excellent fit. Nothing puckers or bunches-up when you tighten down the shoe despite the materials being highly flexible. The best part is now I don’t have any pain during or after rides from shoes which were too narrow. Awesome shoes well worth the price.
As a professional bike fitter, it’s my job to find the best fitting bike shoes for my clients. As it happens, I’ve also struggled over many years to find shoes that fit my flat feet and bunions. The CX-241 is the best solution I’ve ever found, for me and my clients who need extra width. On top of that, it’s a super high quality shoe: comfortable leather, a moldable heel, nice ventilation, great durability, and two perfectly placed Boa dials. I will never wear another road bike shoe — and many of my clients feel the same way.
I've been looking to upgrade my cycling shoes but with my wide feet/bunion it's been a real struggle. Most manufacturers don't really put this into consideration, and therefore most shoes have a narrow feel to them (even if they are marked as 'wide'). The CX241 is just absolutely genius with its design, that really allows for comfort around different areas of your foot. First couple of rides (50 km & 80 km) and they feel great! And to add to that, I just LOVE the chrome/black colour, just a beauty to see! Thank you Lake shoes for this great piece of work/art! :)
