The Lake CX241-X Wide Road Shoe is a culmination of years of experience, advanced materials, and shoemaking techniques to make a shoe that offers the best fitting solution for any foot type. With a heat-moldable heel counter and a uniquely designer upper that has enough adjustability to accommodate feet with any instep height or foot volume without sacrificing comfort.
The CX241 was designed for those riders with foot issues such as bunions, deformation, or wide feet who need a shoe that will not beat their feet up, giving the rider the endurance, they need to stay on the bike. The upper has separated panels that allow for fine tuning the pressure and fit which also allows the upper to conform around sensitive and painful spots on the foot without the same level of constraint that is felt in traditional shoe uppers.
CX/TX Competition Last – With a profile specifically designed for very high-cadence riding & higher pressure, our Competition last features a more curved profile than the Sport last. The main differences include increased toe pitch & heel lift, a tighter heel & a slightly wider ball girth to allow the foot to expand under high pedaling pressures.

This is my second pair of Lakes and by far the most comfortable shoe I've ridden in. I have very wide feet that often burn into a long ride. Now with these - I've never been so happy as to not be focusing on foot burn/pain. I bought their insole as well and have the perfect cycling shoe. Thank you Lake!!
I wear 9.5 US Medium width in most everything. Keep in mind, I’ve grown up barefoot or in flops but “regular width” cycling shoe toe boxes are too snug throughout all cycling shoe manufacturers. My Lake 241s are 43 Wide and I now have Happy Feet!
Bought these because my feet were getting numb after 1 hr in normal shoes. These are so comfortable and have the volume for my high arch and wide foot. An investment for sure, but worth it.
I don't have wide feet except a bunion on each foot and these shoes are a perfect way to accommodate bunions and have snug fit everywhere else. These shoes are very well made, soft leather, stiff sole, not super light but I want comfort over weight. And I can tart up the looks with different colored boa knobs if so desired!
I measured my feet three times, averaged the numbers and the size was spot on. Incidentally, the size did match up with my Sidi's, but not Bont, Fizik, etc.. Speedplay cleats no problem. I haven't molded the heel but may after I've decided on my insole. I'm very impressed and look forward to some long slogs to see how they feel then.
The CX-241 Are the most comfortable, most logically designed cycling shoes ever! I don't have any particular foot issues, just wide feet. I 'experimented' w/sz. 38 . These turned out to be slightly larger than I prefer. These were close-outs,so no returns. It turns out I can make them 'fit' by really cranking the boa's down. I've got tons of room in the toe area. I use these for training & commuting to work. I have now made my 'investment' , recently purchasing another CX-241 sz. 37 this time. The smaller size & provides a perfect , tighter fit. I plan to use these for 2023 ALC SF-LA. Thank you so much for my happy, cycling feet. Brandy
