CX 241 Wide

I've been cycling since 2003 and have been dedicated to the Sidi Ergo. The original Ergo 1 had a very pliable upper and were very comfortable. They also offered a wider size. Since then the uppers have been stiff and narrow. Within the past year I've developed capsulitis in my toe, which gets quite painful while wearing narrow shoes. The Lake CX241's offer a wide version and have a very flexible and form fitting upper. Almost leather like. The double Boa system allows one to adjust the shoe from toe to ankle. My cycling no longer bothers my medical condition and the shoes are just super comfortable.

These are a godsend. I have a bunion on my left foot -- and my previous bike shoes, pinched in the toes, hurt to the extent that I was shortening my rides. I looked for reviews of shoes that work for folks with wide feet/bunions, and these are the ones that kept receiving praise. The construction is perfection, resulting in a wide enough, comfortable toe box akin to running shoes such as Altra. Yet there's still plenty of security, and my foot feels firmly in place. They feel and look great, and I'm gradually adding on the miles to longer trips. Customer service was also excellent in helping me try and settle upon just the right size.

I own 2 pair of Lake CX403 wide and they are wonderful shoes. However on longer rides when my feet swell slightly I need a little wider in the toe box. Also you do not want to walk around much in the 403s, they are made for serious riding. For longer rides and walking the CX 241 are great...highly adjustable. The heel is little wide out of the box, but it is heat adjustable and I will work on that. Overall a brilliantly designed shoe for max adjustability and comfort.

With these Lake CX 241 wide shoes, I have perfect adjustment, especially for my wide foot.
They worth the price because it is so important to take care of his feet, having shoes where you are confortable, no matter the distance you do.
