I have had issues and pain in my feet during long hot summer rides. I have tried the wide SIDIs but still got pain. Buying the CX332Extra Wide after reading many reviews, I am so far really satisfied after the first five rides
These shoes are a perfect fit for my wide foot. Though a found going up a half size from the Triathlon shoe was required to get to extra room I needed in the toe box.
I've owned lots of shoes (also from TdF-sponsors). My problem is simple: I have broad but skinny(!) feet. Most cycling companies don't even produce wide shoes. The few companies which do, often produce broad AND ROOMY (!) "boats". Those didn't work for me.
That's where Lake does something very right: As mentioned, I need a very broad toe box but a relatively flat shoe. Out of the box the Lake "CX332 extra wide" is already closer to my wish than any other cycling shoe has been after ten sessions of heatmolding. Figure in the comfy leather (which adjusts to the foot) and the possibility of heat molding, and you have a winner. Mind you: I am not talking about nuances here. This is a completely different ballpark compared to other companies' "boats". The Lake-fit is unique.
Apart from that, the usual praise: very light, extremely comfy, easy to clean, the two BOA dials tighten the shoe very evenly. No tightness, nothing.
They are not cheap but you get your money's worth.
And the delivery time was three days in central Europe. (some other companies need six weeks at the moment)
This will be my 3rd lake cycling shoes in decade and it gets better each iteration! I look forward to using this for LOOONG time till my next lake shoes! Great fit and comfort even before heat molding.
