TX 233

I have had this shoe for about 6 months but really only been riding with them for about 4 months. Already there is a hole wearing through the fabric at the big toe since there isn't a more robust material at that location. They should extend the toe cap over the great toe to avoid this issue like it is on the road shoes. It is hard to get a good lock down in the forefoot with this shoe as the front strap isn't attached to enough material to pull it over the front of the foot and there is a lot of excess room in the upper at the front of the shoe. It is a very gaping space there. The strap also will rub a hole in the front of your foot when riding hard for long distances since the velcro strap is a bit rough. This is a wide shoe. I have a previous version in a size wide and the sole is the same width. One thing to note, if you use Speedplay Zero pedals with this shoe you will need to modify the cleat base to get any outside float. The curved last and the fact there is no angle adjustability on the cleat base will have you already at the outer float limit. This isn't an issue with a Look or Shimano cleat. I This could be a very good shoe if they improved the lockdown capability at the front of the shoe, placed a bit more durable material over the area of the great toe and widened the connection of the front strap with a bit more material to allow for greater lockdown without being abrasive.

2021 Muncie 70.3

I am so happy with my new Lake Cycling TX 223 AIR Wide cycling shoes!!! Straight out of the box (just in time) to ride the 56 mile course on the recent 70.3 Muncie Ironman! Perfect fit, no hot spots, and I felt very comfortable while pushing big power. Thank you Lake Cycling for having not only a size 14, but in wide and with such features like the breathable and stretchy upper! AMAZING!!! 5 STARS!!!
