I have purchase 3 of this model shoe. 1 to try the shoe and fit, the 2nd one was a color preference and I went 1/2 size smaller thinking it might be a better fit but feels too restrictive in toe box now. I am hanging on to it hoping it will feel ok when riding. Per my previous review I am not happy with the added fees I encountered and felt it is not as transparent when shopping on the website, so I want others to be aware before you waste too much time shopping and deciding which shoe and then finding out $15 shipping plus international fees added by Visa due to how Lake Cycling company billing address.
The shoe itself: 1st one Felt loose and I questioned size, however based off of the excellent measuring directions and my own experience with 1/2 size smaller, I am concluding the measuring directions and the shoe are spot on. The charts and steps are very helpful and I recommend using them and tracing your foot and carefully going through all of the steps. I am a runners Brooks brand Women’s size 7.5 (glycerin and Hyperion) and my perfect size was 39.5 in this shoe. Using the shoe it is extremely comfortable, quick, and so far after 1 month use a quality build…time will tell better.
Customer Service reached out to me regarding my last review on the hidden fees. Although I did not receive actual customer service recovery, it was a professional and courteous call. I still do not like the extra fees, but do love the shoe and in retrospect felt I did not write enough about the shoe and my fit experience. So I checked my email for another link to leave another review since I did buy 3
Of this shoe after all! My daughter has yet to try hers out since it’s a Birthday gift in a few days, so perhaps we shall leave a 3rd review at a later date.
I am an athletic person and dedicated runner for more than a decade, and just recently switched from my previous cycling on station at Peloton and my outdoor mountain bike to a triathlon bike Cervelo P-Series to train for future triathlons. So far I’ve rode at least 300-400 miles with this Lake Cycling shoe, for perspective on my review. Absolutely love the shoe and recommend this shoe. I just don’t appreciate all the extra fees.
