The MXZ120 is our first winter model built on our Comfort Plus Last. This classic hiker styled boot is SPD compatible, water resistant, warm, and breathable. The semi-flexible nylon sole allows for equal comfort on or off the bike and the natural foot shaped toe box provides plenty of space for your favorite winter socks.
Sizing Suggestion: For use with winter weight socks we recommend ordering 1-1.5 sizes up from your usual Lake Cycling shoe size.

The MXZ120 is a biking shoe that actually fits people with extra wide feet. Just for reference, my normal footwear is the Merrell Men's Moab 3 Mid Wide Width boots (size 11.5) and I had to size up to the MXZ120 (size 48) to get a comfortable fit with room for winter socks. These are the only biking shoes I've tried with a truly wide-toe-box and I absolutely love biking in these.
These have been excellent in cold windy weather. Wind is blocked out almost 100%. My toes no longer freeze up during winter rides. My MX238 Gravel (Wide) @ 41.5 fits my wide feet perfectly. I sized up the MXZ120 to 42.5, and compared to MX238, it has a little more room around the toes even with winter socks. Some room around the toes is welcome, so I'm happy with the overall fit of this boot.
The only minor negative is that ankle movement is slightly restricted due to the high cut of these boots. I feel the restriction during pedaling at a high cadence. The restriction is felt less as the boots break-in, but it's never going to feel like low cut cycling shoes.
Very comfortable
Fabulous winter boot that will keep me riding all winter! Sizing is tricky; sized up 1/2 size , but had to return and go up a full size. The shipping gets expensive, so it would be nice to get a break if exchanging.
