We’ve used a Clarino Microfiber & mesh upper on our CX177, giving a perfect blend of durability and breathability. The CX177 features form fitting and durable microfiber and mesh upper, with well-researched mesh placement to allow your feet to breath. The comfortable and secure BOA® closure utilizes technical Carbitex tongue panels for reduced friction lace adjustment and comfort.
BOA® Fit System L6 dial. The BOA® L6 dial offers a precise, micro-adjustable fit, maximum impact protection and durability. It’s super secure and super comfortable and easy to adjust on the fly, too.
What can I say, if you've done your research on what shoes to get because you have wide feet or you've already wasted money on some shoes that gave you pain after riding 15km, then look no further. The wide version of the cx177 is exactly as it says; It is wide. I normal have size US mens 9 or 9.5 and I used the size guide calculator Lake provides which gave me a size 43 wide of the cx177. I just got them and took them for a test ride and wow! Never been so comfortable. If they had half sizes for this model I may go down to a 42eu because I got extra room by my big toe but nevertheless all the pros outweigh this little con.
Other than finally finding a company that accomodates the people with wide feet, which is a lot of us, the shoes are well made, the boa system works, and they're very breathable. On par with the Specialized torch 1.0's I just had but returned because of major cramping and numbing of my foot.
Take your time and measure accurately with their guide and get ready for some comfortable cycling shoes!
For years I've been trying to find a pair of shoes that adapt to wide feet. Success 👍 and they look great 👍
One boa buckle does not allow for fine adjustment across the foot — Velcro straps and a simple ratchet buckle would have been better, heal cup is too loose, shipment took forever to get here. I would have return but the cost were too high to make sense. Unless you are buying exactly the same shoes, purchase your shoes locally if you can.
As soon as I put these on, they were super comfy and fit great (I followed the size guide). It's always a good sign for out on the bike. Though not Lake's stiffest sole, according to the guide, they feel plenty stiff to me. My only knock on these is the one boa design, there is slack in the wire further down the foot that can take a while to even out. You will find yourself tightening the boa a few times in the first thirty mins of your ride. I think this is a flaw inherent with all one boa designs. But I got what I paid for. Still, I would recommend these shoes if they hit your price point.
Great fit and great shoe
