CX/TX Sport – The higher cadence & longer ride times which characterize road cycling require excellent foot control to avoid hot-spots & numbness. With a much closer fit than any of our off-road lasts, our Sport last cradles the foot securely to prevent any unwanted movement. This last features a precisely fitted toe-box, high arch & mid width ball girth.
Tip for keeping your shoes Water resistant: The uppers are treated from the factory with a DWR (Durable Water Resistant) coating that will wear away over time and use. Like many other water-resistant products, to help keep the shoe uppers from absorbing water that could migrate into the shoe, it is recommended to reapply the upper with a DWR spray which are readily available at most stores that sell outdoor products. We recommend reapplying the coating 1-2 times a year for moderate riders and for heavy use or daily commuter riders reapply at least after every 2-3 extreme wet rides. For best result follow the instructions from the DWR manufacture on how to reapply the coatings.

Comfortable down to 25°F ( -3°C )
I have two other lake models and use the wide version in both, and size 42.5. There is no half size, so I ordered a size 43. I was surprised to find the shoes tight. Unusable tight. I attribute this to the thick insoles that come with the shoes. I took the Lake insole from my other summer shoes and then I could fit in the winter shoe. It fits correctly with this adjustment. I imagine that I will not reap the benefit of the insulated footbed. If I could exchange with a size 44 - it might be too long? Not sure. I ordered on line... so I did not have the option to try.
This shoe is great for cool weather riding for someone with wide feet. Have struggled to find shoes that fit my wide feet. This shoe fits the bill. Very comfortable shoe. Temp rating indicates good down to 25 degrees F. I found it comfortable down to high 30s stand alone and low to mid 30s with shoe covers. Depending on whether your feet get cold easily or not, could be good to lower temps than I found comfortable. I used it in the fall and spring time when temps are cold for my early morning rides in the Northeast. Highly recommend this shoe.
