It is a nice package with extra spikes and an installation tool. That said I am not sure what there actual purpose is, must be to protect the front of the sole of the shoe from wear. When I think of spikes I think of something to penetrate and add traction. I do a lot of winter ice riding on mountain bikes using carbide studded tires. I purchased these with the idea that they would add traction on icy slippery surfaces as there have been numerous instances riding on very icy trails the bike tires grip great, then I stall out, step down and fall or almost fall because my Lake winter mountain boots MXZ304 don't have any traction. The studs since they are flat won't help, I will try cutting edges into them and install next year.
