MX Sport Last – This last features a larger, more roomy toe-box than our Comfort last while providing increased foot control through the heel & saddle of the foot. The resulting fit is designed for aggressive riding while remaining comfortable to wear all day. Ideal for couriers, adventure cyclists & anyone else who wears their cycling shoes for long periods of time.Tip for keeping your shoes Water resistant: The uppers are treated from the factory with a DWR (Durable Water Resistant) coating that will ware away over time and use. Like many other water-resistant products, to help keep the shoe uppers from absorbing water that could migrate into the shoe, it is recommended to reapply the upper with a DWR spray which are readily available at most stores that sell outdoor products. We recommend reapplying the coating 1-2 times a year for moderate riders and for heavy use or daily commuter riders reapply at least after every 2-3 extreme wet rides. For best result follow the instructions from the DWR manufacture on how to reapply the coatings.
Supergrip Enduro Sole with Ice Lock anti-slip lug inserts. Not only does the MX146 feature Lake’s Legendary Fiberglass injected Nylon sole, but also one of the most technically advanced rubber soles. The Supergrip rubber sole features ICE LOCK tread inserts, which are vertically injected micro glass fibers that grip virtually all surfaces. This gives you a wet weather cycling shoe that is sure footed and stable in any condition.
The upper features softshell fabric, water resistant microfiber, Thinsulate 200gr insulation and a waterproof membrane making this a highly water resistant cycling shoe great in various conditions. Clarino microfiber offers great durability and the suppleness found in leather at a significant weight reduction.

These are awesome boots. I ordered the 48W. Warmth range is outstanding. From the 20s to the 50s. Excellent upgrades from the 145, like no neoprene on the upper. The Lake footbed is VERY thick, too thick. I removed them and I use Superfeet. Also, there is a break-in of two or three rides during which the boot expands. Changing the footbed allows for a thicker or thinner sock depending on the temperature. There is also adequate ankle flexibility. Water does not intrude from the top of the boot. So why only 4 stars? The position of the BOA. I find that single BOA on the ankle makes it difficult to get the boot really snug on the forefoot so my foot shifts of bit on technical sections. So if you like tight shoes it is something to consider. Not a deal breaker just a thought.
These shoes are more comfortable, warmer, and better performing than my previous shoulder season shoe. However, they seem to be sized slightly smaller than my other Lake shoes.
