MX Sport Last – This last features a larger, more roomy toe-box than our Comfort last while providing increased foot control through the heel & saddle of the foot. The resulting fit is designed for aggressive riding while remaining comfortable to wear all day. Ideal for couriers, adventure cyclists & anyone else who wears their cycling shoes for long periods of time.

Sizing Suggestion: For use with winter weight socks we recommend ordering 1-1.5 size up from your normal Lake Cycling shoe size.

Supergrip Enduro Sole with Ice Lock anti-slip lug inserts. Not only does the MX146 feature Lake’s Legendary Fiberglass injected Nylon sole, but also one of the most technically advanced rubber soles. The Supergrip rubber sole features ICE LOCK tread inserts, which are vertically injected micro glass fibers that grip virtually all surfaces. This gives you a wet weather cycling shoe that is sure footed and stable in any condition.

The upper features softshell fabric, water resistant microfiber, Thinsulate 200gr insulation and a waterproof membrane making this a highly water resistant cycling shoe great in various conditions. Clarino microfiber offers great durability and the suppleness found in leather at a significant weight reduction.

BOA® Fit System M4 dial. The M4 dial is built for gloves and freezing temperatures, defying sand, mud, and ice. Combined with Click-Fit quick release, the system makes for easy entry and exit.

Down to 25°F/-4°C

The uppers are treated with a durable water resistant (DWR) coating that will wear away over time. We recommend reapplying a DWR spray 1-2 times a year for moderate riders and every 2-3 wet rides for daily riders.

HIghly recommend

I first bought a size 39 as my other 2 pairs of Lake shoes were size 39 and fit well. It was too small. Really too small. I returned them and ordered a 40 Wide which gave me plenty of toe and sock room. The boots are great and I am in them every day on my commute to work. Warm, water resistant and really comfy.

Great Shoes

I recently purchased a pair of MX146 winter shoes. The first pair were a size too small despite carefully measuring my feet and using the sizing chart. I exchanged for a larger size and they fit perfect. I have worn them a few times now in temperatures of around 30 degrees Fahrenheit with a normal pair of socks and my feet stayed warm. The soles are stiff for good power transfer to the pedals. The Boa system evenly distributes tightening and makes for quick on and off. Overall I am very pleased with them so far.

Best Mountain Bike Boot

The MX146 is a terrific midweight boot (20~50F/7~10C). I also have MX303 (replaced with 304) heavy boot (below 20F/-7C). Both boots are very comfortable. Great for hike-a-bike sections. They are waterproof and windproof. I've had the 303 for many years and they are holding up great. I've only had the 146 a couple months, but they appear to have similar build quality. I expect they will last a long time too. When it comes to cycling boots, the flap that covers the front of the boot is a must-have. Other boots I've had leak melting snow and splashing water through the zipper or lace. Also, the cleat slots are sealed whereas other boots are not. These boots keep my feet dry in slushy snow and even when my foot breaks through the frozen creek. My normal shoe size is 45.5. The 303 fit best in size 46. The 146 fit best in size 47. This is with a normal weight sock not thin cycling sock or heavy wool sock. I don't need a heavy sock with either of these boots. They are warm enough with a normal midweight sock.

Great Shoes

I’ve had these for a couple of months now. I live in Monroe WA and ride rain or shine for the most part. These shoes keep my feet dry and warm with thick wool socks. I have relatively narrow feet and these shoes are on the wider side, so they work perfectly for me with warm socks. According to the Lake sizing guide I should be in a 48-50 size which translates to a size 12-13 US Mens. A shoe size I have never worn. These shoes were unavailable at my local shops, but I was able to try on a different Lake shoe for size reference as I was questioning Lake’s guidelines as I normally wear US Mens 10 or a 43-44 EU size. These shoes come only in whole sizes so I ordered a 46 as Lake’s sizing doesn’t match up with usual EU sizing, a 45.5 would have been perfect. Other than the sizing issue the shoes are awesome and worth every penny. The quality of workmanship appears to be outstanding. The BOA system works flawlessly so far. Shoes are everything I wanted for my PNW cold wet winter rides. When I need new summer shoes I will definitely be shopping with Lake. Totally recommend.
