I am 70 years old and have been riding for 30 years. I ride lots of centuries. I currently ride 3 to 5 centuries a week, over 11,000 miles a year. Over the 30 years I have owned almost every band name MTB shoe on the market. My feet are wide and it has been very difficult to find shoes that don't kill my feet on long rides. I had to have foot surgery a couple of years ago as a result of this. My current pair of Trek shoes, the soles were totally wore out. I was unable to find a wide MTB shoe in my size anywhere. A store employee told me to check out Lake, that was the only shoe he wears. I found that they had the MX 177 in a size that would fit. I got them and they are great! They felt so good that after 2 rides I checked and found they had MX 176 on clearance and I bought them as a back up. I have been wearing them for about a month now, 1000 miles. I wish I would have heard about Lake shoes 30 years ago. After about 30 miles I used to be aware of my feet on every pedal stroke. Not anymore, I even forget to loosen them up when I stop to eat. I will not be checking anywhere else for any future bike shoes.

Perfect fit!

I've had my MX177 Wide for a little over a month and worn them nearly every day. Similar to some other reviews, they are an improvement vs the prior MX176. There is now plenty of room for my toes, and they're just as easy for walking as the MX176. I cannot remember when I had such a comfortable shoe. In fact, today I just ordered another pair, to make sure I continue to have comfy shoes when these wear out. @LAKE, I don't mind if you change the BOA arrangement, but please stay with the current geometry.

Great fit

Again,Lake shoes pull through for me.I have a 13 wide foot and these shoes fit perfect.A little loose in the heel while walking but on the bike they are perfect.

love them

A superb upgrade from the mx176 which I found a little small in the toebox area. These are just wonderful. Great comfort for all day riding and hike-a-bike. stiff enough sole without being painfully rigid like the carbon ones can be. Add a good insole
and they are briliant shoes. The only thing I'd like to change - the boa dial. make it the 2-way version and these shoes would
be perfect :)

Well done

Bought these for more to box room. perfect. Second pair of Lake shoes (one road and one mtb) and they are both good quality, comfortable, good fit and just what I was looking for. No more numb big toe!!
