MX Sport The higher cadence & longer ride times which characterize road cycling require excellent foot control to avoid hot-spots & numbness. With a much closer fit than any of our off-road lasts, our Sport last cradles the foot securely to prevent any unwanted movement. This last features a precisely fitted toe-box, high arch & mid width ball girth.

Tip for keeping your shoes Water resistant: The uppers are treated from the factory with a DWR (Durable Water Resistant) coating that will ware away over time and use. Like many other water-resistant products, to help keep the shoe uppers from absorbing water that could migrate into the shoe, it is recommended to reapply the upper with a DWR spray which are readily available at most stores that sell outdoor products. We recommend reapplying the coating 1-2 times a year for moderate riders and for heavy use or daily commuter riders reapply at least after every 2-3 extreme wet rides. For best result follow the instructions from the DWR manufacture on how to reapply the coatings.

Hypergrip Enduro Sole with Ice Lock anti-slip lug inserts.

Side mounted L6 BOA® Push/Pull lacing system with A power strap in the forefoot.

Comfortable down to 25°F ( -3°C )

Runs small, but great shoe

Size 43 Lake shoes fit me just fine, but this winter shoe runs small. Had to return and get a size 44, which fits well though it is slightly more sung in the forefoot than other Lake shoes. Lake customer service is, well, not what I would call friendly. It would save everyone a lot of time and expense if the description of the shoe mentioned that it runs small. Otherwise, a well-made shoe that definitely keeps my feet warmer in temps down to 30 degrees F, so far.

Need extended cleat slots

This is the second pair of lake shoes that I have bought. The expanded sizes, different lasts, and comfort are very good. However, Lake really needs to join the trend of extended cleat slots (toward heal of shoe) on all Mtb shoes. The cleat slots are much more forward than other Mtb shoes. I successfully extended the slots without ruining the shoes, but I shouldn’t have to. I wear a size 50 and there are not a lot of choices in that size and the fit I need; otherwise I would have went with another brand.
Lake- there is no downside to longer cleat slots!

Awesome shoe for cooler weather

I already owned the MX 176 and ordered the MXZ 176 in a size larger for warmer socks. Perfect for these cooler fall days! A little heavier but that’s preferred to cold Feet!
