The Lake CX332 road shoe is a classic design with modern elements such as dual BOA closure & a light weight carbon sole system. The CX332 also draws from the same Thermaform technology as found in the CX403.

The internal heel counter is heat moldable carbon that gives the option to better customize the heel hold. A secure heel hold will stabilize the foot and eliminate heel slip. A stable foot allows for more power transfer and less fatigue. Form fitting natural leather upper in combination with the dual BOA closure system ensures that your foot will be secure without needing to over tighten the shoe.

The CX332 utilizes Lake's patented double sole system. The inner sole is a semi flexible fiberglass platform that allows some flexibility at the ball of the foot where the foot tends to swell, and typically hot spots or numbness would occur. The inner sole is suspended over the outer rigid carbon sole. This system enables the CX332 to use an extremely stiff carbon outsole without sacrificing riding comfort.

CX/TX RACE Last – Featuring a slightly more narrow toe box and tighter heel than the Competition last and less overall volume than the Sport last. Designed for very high-cadence riding with a slimmer fit.

Lake Race 100% Carbon Fiber Sole, Lake patent Double Sole. Available in a 4-hole cleat pattern (Speedplay).

Klite Kangaroo leather or Clarino Microfiber. Outlast temperature regulating heel & tongue liner. Internal Heat Moldable Thermaform Carbon Fiber heel counter.

BOA® Fit System Li2 dials. The Li2 dial is the most advanced platform in cycling, offering a precise, micro-adjustable fit in both directions and designed to resist abrasion.

Need wide, so regular didn't fit. I have been road riding with Lake shoes for years and love them because they have speedplay specific sole.

Excellent Premium Race Shoe

Not sure what TJ’s problem is but I own three or four pairs of shoes two of them being S works.

I’ve always wanted a shoe that I could use my speed play cleats bolted on without the adapter.

I had no issues bolding the cleats to the shoe it lowered my stock height The uppers are more comfortable than my S work shoes and the shoe feels more neutral when riding.
Long story short it’s my favorite race day or long ride shoe you won’t be disappointed.

A perfect shoe? Almost...

I bought the CX332 4-hole shoes in June 2021, and have done about 6,000 miles in them so far. I honestly don't notice them when I'm riding, which is a good thing. Super comfortable. I have always ridden Speedplay pedals. So to find a shoe with a dedicated Speedplay sole is amazing. So here is my opinion on why only three stars, and it pains me to call out these things but maybe things can be improved. The sole has two layers, in the center, you have a floating metal receiver for the Speedplay tension cleat to attach to the sole. Now when I say I struggled, I mean struggled really hard to get screws to align. The Speedplay cleat holes and the CX332 receiver plate holes didn't match perfectly, so the screws didn't want to go in straight and cross-threading was a real risk. In fact, I can't guarantee I didn't cross the threads which worries me if I need to remove them, because the shoe is done. I expected the Kangaroo leather to be more durable than regular leather, it's not and it's worrying. After a minor stupid spill, the CX332 leather can now be picked off like tissue paper. The last issue I only notice when the weather gets hot. Remember there are two layers to the sole to accommodate the Speedplay receiver. The outer bottom sole is carbon but on top of this is I'm guessing some type of fiberglass? This is the part your foot presses down on. In the hotter weather, I can feel this material flex under my foot, which is a bummer because I wasn't expecting this. Anyway, I hope this helps.
