My feet were killing me

I am 70 years old and have been riding for 30 years. I ride lots of centuries. I currently ride 3 to 5 a week, over 11,000 miles a year. Over the 30 years I have owned almost every band name MTB shoe on the market. My feet are wide and it has been very difficult to find shoes that don't kill my feet on long rides. I had to have foot surgery a couple of years ago as a result of this. My current pair of Trek shoes, the soles were totally wore out. I was unable to find a wide MTB shoe in my size anywhere. A store employee told me to check out Lake, that was the only shoe he wears. I found that they had the MX 177 in a size that would fit. I got them and they are great! They felt so good that after 2 rides I checked and found they had MX 176 on clearance and I bought them as a back up. I have been wearing them for about a month now, 1000 miles. I wish I would have heard about Lake shoes 30 years ago. After about 30 miles used to be aware of my feet on every pedal stroke. Not anymore, I even forget to loosen them up when I stop to eat. I will not be checking anywhere else for any future bike shoes.

Perfect Purchase

This is the first pair of bike shoes I've bought from this company. I wore them on a 50 mile road ride this past weekend and I loved they way they fit and allowed enough room for my feet to stay comfortable down to my last mile. The sale was the reason I purchased them - too good to pass up and not take the chance they would work. I'll be back to purchase other Lake cycling shoes - thank you!

Fantastic purchase

I bought these based on everyone's recommendations. I went with wides, even though I'm not exactly a wide. I normally wear altras to run and daily wear and other natural foot shape toe box. Thanks to this, I have naturally splayed toes, and not the shape of "normal"(incorrect) shoes. These ended up fitting perfectly after using their sizing guide and measurements. They're very comfy, and the soles are the perfect stiffness. I'd highly recommend these!

Comfortable. Width Observation

Love these new shoes. Very comfortable upper leather and sole provides perfect balance of stiffness and flex.

Used the size chart and it resulted in the correct length. The width was a judgement call. I've always used a regular size in all shoes without issue. The Lake size guide had me in a grey area between regular and wide. Strictly by the numbers given I would be a wide. Trusted my judgement and previous reviews and went with a regular. This was the right call as a wide would have been way too much. As it is, I have to crank the Boa almost all the way down to get a tight fit. So, if you're right on the edge, I would go with a regular. Especially, since the leather uppers are likely to stretch a bit over time.
